Port Masterclass with Adam Odor (School of Port) and Maria Boumpa (UK Sommelier of the Year)

UKSA members, we are organising another exclusive FREE member event for you!  School of Port’s, Adam Odor will be joined by Maria Boumpa, UK Sommelier of the Year 2025 to guide you through an exploration and tasting of the full spectrum of the Port category.

This is a fantastic opportunity whether you’re preparing for a blind tasting

exam or gearing up for a sommelier competition.  Port’s history spans four centuries, and the ways it’s enjoyed have evolved constantly.  Passing only to the left and the “Three-bottle men” are long gone, and the Bishop of Norwich is replaced by Game

of Thrones.

It’s time to discover how and why Port remains as relevant as ever for the 21st-century wine drinker.


Date: Monday, 29 th September

Time: 11 am to 1 pm (Option to stay for lunch with 25% discount afterwards)

Venue: Champagne Charlies, 17 Villiers St, London WC2N 6NG

  • Adam will give us a thorough overview of the Douro Valley from terroir and viticulture to port winemaking and aging.

  • Maria will lead the full organoleptic tasting of six different ports

  • The event will conclude with practical tips on port and food pairing, shelf life, service and more!


The masterclass is limited to only 15 members.

  • Places will be allocated in order of registration.  

  • We are not requiring deposits for this event, but spaces are very limited so we would request that if you are get a place but can no longer make it, please let us know and she will be able to offer the opportunity to someone on the waitlist.
