The Standard of Excellence
The ASI (Association de la Sommellerie Internationale) Certification 2 is designed for professionals capable of performing at a "Head Sommelier" level in any international hospitality environment. The assessment is rigorous, testing candidates across three core pillars:
Theoretical Mastery: A comprehensive written paper covering global viticulture, enology, and the production of spirits, beers, and other beverages.
Blind Tasting: Identifying and describing classic international wines and spirits with precision and commercial logic.
Practical Service: Demonstrating flawless technique in wine service (still or sparkling) and the ability to justify complex food and beverage pairings under exam conditions.
Building Professional Connections
Beyond the technical results, the 2025 exam session proved to be a valuable catalyst for professional networking. While candidates prepared for the exam independently, the day itself brought these members together, fostering a sense of mutual support and camaraderie.
This shared experience has not only added seven highly qualified professionals to our ranks but has also strengthened the ties within our local sommelier network.
We congratulate our members on their hard work and this well-deserved success.
