What’s in store for 2024…

  • We are planning tastings and masterclasses throughout the year…including Vinho Verde and Sake.

  • Video tutorials hosted by the UKSA Board and members who have experience with the ASI Diploma, ahead of UKSA members being eligible to take ASI Certificate 1 and 2 and Diploma exams.

  • Further training sessions with expert trainer and ASI co-head of Education and Exams committee Soren Polonius and Simon Cox, Olympian rower and training coach to both Eric Zwiebel and Vincenzo Arnese.

  • After sending UKSA member, Chris Parker to Quito, Ecuador for the 2023 ASI Bootcamp we will encourage a UKSA member to be able to attend this year’s ASI Bootcamp, to be held in Europe.

  • As the only UK-based membership that is ASI affiliated our members have access to training grids, comprehensive exam and competition training expertise, opportunities to compete at national and world contests, access to the excellent, bi-monthly ASI magazine, filled with interesting and topical news and expert guidance for Somms.

  • Our calendar for ASI exams starts with the ASI Diploma being held in London in March. Registrations are open now.

  • The UKSA is increasing its reach of contacts across the globe, many of whom are award-winning Somms, who willingly offer advice, guidance, and news on recruitment and job opportunities.

  • We are looking at new ways of fostering networking within our community. The UKSA members are a friendly, supportive group of like-minded individuals, all keen to share their knowledge and experience

  • We will be supporting, providing mentorship, and ensuring accessibility of all of the UKSA Board, all of whom are experienced, highly respected individuals within the world of wine and wine service, to our members

  • We will be extending the range of discounts on wines and books.
