Volunteer Applications Open for the ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2026

Applications are now officially open for volunteer positions at the upcoming ASI Contest Best Sommelier of the World 2026, taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, from October 11 to 17, 2026.

The UKSA has been requested by the ASI General Secretary to invite passionate and qualified professionals from our membership to apply. Volunteering at this level offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience the operational backstage of the world’s most prestigious sommelier competition, network with leading global industry figures, and share unforgettable moments with the international wine community.

Candidate Requirements & Selection Parameters

The ASI selection committee evaluates all applicants based on a strict set of professional criteria:

• Association Standing: Applicants must be active, verified members of their national sommelier association (UKSA).

• Professional Profile: The application process requires a formal self-description and details regarding your professional activity on social media.

• Core Competencies: Punctuality, foundational wine service knowledge, strong organisational skills, and absolute operational flexibility are mandatory across all departments.

This opportunity is strictly open to active, verified members of the ASI (UKSA members within the UK).

Application Deadline: All formal electronic submissions must be completed by June 10th.
