2025 ASI Certification 2 Exam in London
We hosted the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) Certification 2 exam in London on Monday, November 17th.
Seven dedicated UKSA members took on the challenge of this internationally recognised certification, a crucial step in their professional sommelier journey.
The ASI Certification 2: Defining the International Sommelier
The ASI Certification 2 is specifically designed for professionals who have spent several years in the trade and are ready to assume the responsibility of a Head Sommelier. The comprehensive exam tests whether candidates possess the full set of skills required to practice the profession in an international environment.
The examination covers a broad spectrum of international knowledge and professional skills, including viticulture, winemaking, grape varieties, service etiquette, wine tasting protocols, stock management, customer care, and food pairings. Passing this certification demonstrates a high level of expertise essential for excelling in the most demanding hospitality settings.
